john’s hair parting is a subtle way to remind us of the pov shift. you know how your own reflection in the mirror is swapped round so what you see isn’t how others perceive you. s1-2 john parted his hair on the left because we saw the world through his eyes - his own mirror image. s3 onwards is sherlock’s pov so john’s hair parting moves to the right because it’s how sherlock sees john.

I don’t understand the logic that whoever is calmest in an argument is winning and that somehow anger invalidates your words. I mean I can argue that your great aunt’s name is Jihinksenbob for an hour straight and be perfectly fine. It’s very easy to be calm when the topic doesn’t affect you personally or you just don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.
